Dear Caribe Resort Owners,
July 8th, 2025 Outage and Persisting Issues
The island-wide power outage on July 8th, 2025 caused several issues on property which affected not only the elevators but also many other electronic systems around the property. We are working with Baldwin EMC to negotiate possible reimbursement for damages.
We also had a major lightning strike on Sunday, July 13th at the putting green that heavily damaged two palm trees, the nearby park benches, and many surrounding electronics. The combination of these damages have required extensive troubleshooting and repairs to restore everything to full operation.
Cavinder Elevators has worked diligently to get elevators repaired and up and running and we are still experiencing issues as a result of the power outage.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused, especially during this busy time of year, and appreciate your patience and understanding as we address these challenges.
Balcony Grill Policy
No type of grill that has an ignitor is allowed on any unit balcony. Charcoal, pebble, gas and smokers are all prohibited.
Balcony Lights
No type of lighting can be displayed on any unit balcony. An exception has been made to allow Christmas lights and these can be displayed from Thanksgiving to January 15th. This new policy was voted on and approved by the Board of Directors at the Annual Homeowners Meeting. Security will enforce this policy.
Parking Garage Repairs
Temporary shoring is in place for the upper and lower parking garage sections of C & D.
The upper deck pools remain open for the season and we’ll continue to evaluate needed repairs. We have made significant improvements to the situation and it is roughly 80% completed.
Cabana Rentals
The cabanas and tiki bar on the lazy river deck are open for use. If you have not had the opportunity to book a cabana rental, you’re able to book a cabana on www.cariberesort.com and these are available to rent until October 31st, 2025. Daily rates vary depending on occupancy. Book yours today!
Coffee Shop
The coffee shop in D Building is open from 7am-6pm daily. Be sure to grab an early morning coffee and enjoy an assortment of pastries and lunch offerings while you’re here!
As a reminder, the owners gate is an automated system. Absolutely no piggybacking is allowed and any vehicles that cause damage to the gate will be billed accordingly.
Projects in Progress
- New rooftop A/C units for Building C are scheduled for installation during the week of August 12th. These are two 25-ton units that will be lifted to the roof using a crane.
- Updated buttons for the elevators in the C & D buildings have been ordered and will be installed once they arrive.
- The replacement lazy river deck elevators are in the last stages of development and assembly. We anticipate installation of these starting this winter and estimate completion in Spring of 2026.
- We are in the process of replacing all missing/damaged pickets around the outdoor pool areas starting with the B outdoor pool. Once this repair work is complete we will repaint the railing areas.
As a reminder our next Annual Homeowners Association meeting will be held March 21st, 2026.
