Dear Caribe Resort Owners,
Guest Registration Certificate “Resort Fee”
The Board of Directors has requested that Caribe Realty investigate the possibility of implementing a Guest Registration Certificate “Resort Fee” and what the logistics and cost to do this would entail. This would result in Caribe Realty checking in all guests and issuing keys and parking passes to all outside rental guests including VRBOs. Caribe Realty is the process of researching the logistics and costs associated with this.
Elevator Modernization Schedule
The board approved the modernization plan for the B tower elevators. Work will begin on Monday, September 28th and the two east end elevators in the B Building will undergo complete modernization to bring them up to current standards and improve performance. Only one elevator car will be down at a time with an estimate of 3 months per elevator car. The board also committed to modernizing the other two elevators in B tower during the fall and winter of 2027. The 2026 assessment has provided the funds for this to take place. After the first of the year, the D Lazy River elevator will undergo a complete modernization. This has already been funded and should take much less time to complete then the C Lazy River elevator.
Unit Remodels and Contractors
For any unit owner planning to undertake remodeling work, please notify our Maintenance Department in advance and ensure that all contractors are reviewed and approved by our maintenance team before work begins. This helps ensure that all work is completed properly and in accordance with building standards. Unit owners will be held responsible for any damages or issues affecting other units that result from improper or unauthorized work.
Insurance Requests
You may receive a notification from your mortgage company requesting proof of flood insurance. Please do not panic when you receive this notice. All Caribe Home Owner Association insurance is paid for and up-to-date. GST Insurance does not send updated insurance information to your mortgage companies without a letter from you or your mortgage company. Cabana Rentals
The Cabanas, Tiki Bar and Coffee Shop are open for the season until October 31st, 2026. If you have not had the opportunity to utilize one of the cabanas, you’re able to book a cabana on www.cariberesort.com. Make sure to grab a drink from the Tiki Bar or Coffee Shop the next time you’re on property!
As a reminder our next Annual Homeowners Association meeting will be held March 20th, 2027.
