Dear Caribe Resort Owners,

We are steadily working on the full remediation of Caribe Resort. We know you are ready to get your condo back into usable condition as soon as possible if your unit was affected. The process of mold and moisture removal is in full swing.

B & C Tower Update:

Carpet, padding, laminate, and baseboards have been pulled in affected units and some drywall repairs have been completed with baseboard installation soon to follow. Ongoing thermal imaging is discovering additional moisture and damage that was not previously detected which we are remediating on a daily basis. Please be patient as we need to fully repair these units. We will be reaching out to unit owners for their selection of flooring and if owners would like to upgrade the other bedrooms at the same time for consistency. If you have an installer to provide this service, please mention this to your Owner Relations representative. Flooring installers are backed up, but we will begin flooring installations as soon as possible with both carpet and luxury vinyl plank options.

D Tower Update:

Carpet, padding, and laminate have been pulled, and we are working on removing baseboards this week in affected units.

D Tower is still not available for guest occupancy, but we are allowing owners full access as we have never denied owner use. By October 30th, we anticipate opening D Tower for rental, but this will depend on two main factors:

  1. The emergency power generator has to be installed which was started earlier this week and will be completed by October 30, 2020.
  2. The installation of the newly designed domestic water booster pumps system.

General Property Update:

At this point, the sewer lift stations have all been repaired and off manual control, and the B Tower generator has been fully repaired to proper working order. The docks and bay walkway are still restricted from use and we do not have a time frame for re-opening as of yet. Landscape repairs have begun with palm trees being straightened and new palm trees installed. D lazy river elevator repair will be started Monday, October 26, 2020, and updates to other elevators will follow. Currently, the upper level putting green is closed due to debris/ glass in the artificial turf.

We have spent countless hours with insurance adjusters and consultants over the past month to fully assess the property and gain the full benefit of our extensive policy. Measuring the damage includes fully covering all corners of this vast property, much of which is not seen by public viewing.

These insurance meetings will continue until the board is satisfied with the full remedy of our claim.
